MINIREPORTERS facebook app

March 11th, 2011

Category: | Applications | Web |

We’ve been helping Manchester based PR and social media consultancy Down at the Social deliver a global social media campaign for LEGOLAND Discovery Centres.

Down at the Social are tasked with global PR and social media for the Merlin Entertainments Group attractions in Manchester, Berlin, Duisberg, Chicago and Dallas and have developed a cross-territory campaign searching for ‘MINIREPORTERS’. The campaign encourages parents and teachers to work with their children to create unique video and picture news stories and is being delivered through a facebook app which we’ve developed.

The application uses the same mechanic in each territory but is themed differently to reflect the local market.  Users upload a video or picture into the application via You Tube or Facebook, and can then view and vote on other entries in a gallery. The five entries with the most votes are then judged by a panel of experts before the final winner is announced.

We have developed a bespoke competition platform that enables multiple competitions held in different regions to reuse the same gaming mechanic. Administrators are then able to tailor content to each specific region by using the competition systems’ content management system. LEGOLAND Discovery Centres’ investment in a competition platform has significantly reduced development time, deployment costs and ongoing management time and costs enabling them to concentrate on the important work of engaging with their target audience.

Down At The Social is the name for Manchester’s newest PR agency. The startup, formed by Daisy Whitehouse and Fiona McGarva, describe themselves as “a young, vibrant consultancy with clients to match” and they are already making a splash with a clutch of high profile client wins. We’d like to think that our dazzling branding and equally retina scorching website will help them on their way!

Creamfields hat-trick!

December 21st, 2010

Category: | Branding | Print | Web |

Christmas has come early at Corporation Pop with the news that, following a three way pitch, we’ve been appointed by Cream Group to deliver the online and offline campaign for Creamfields 2011. Creamfields is the UK’s biggest dance music festival, which attracted capacity crowds of around 60,000 across the bank holiday weekend.

This will be the third campaign that we’ve produced for the group having also delivered Creamfields 2009 and 2010. Not only are we the only agency in the history of the festival to be re-appointed for successive campaigns but we’re also very proud that the 2009 and 2010 festivals were both sell-outs. In fact Creamfields 2010 was the fastest selling festival in the event’s 13 year history – selling out weeks before the event.

This year’s campaign will launch in March 2011 and roll out across a range of online and offline media between then and August 2011. We’re very excited about the creative approach (though sorry we can’t unveil it yet!) and are confident that it will contribute to another very successful year for the festival.

LATEST (28.02.11): We’ve just heard that following a three way pitch we’ve been appointed by Cream Group to deliver this summer’s Cream Ibiza campaign which will run between now and August across press, print and outdoor advertising, both in the UK and in Ibiza.
