Richard Hawley’s website goes live!

September 21st, 2009

Category: | Web |

Richard Hawley’s new website goes love today – to coincide with the release of his sixth (and we think best) album, Truelove’s Gutter, which also launches today.

Using a pop-out customised window player, visitors can pick their favourite track to listen to whilst browsing his site, which is user-friendly, easy to navigate and contains up-to-the-minute information.

Richard is quite outspoken and really enjoys interacting with his fans so we were looking to create a more personal artist-fan relationship. The homepage features regularly updated musings from the man himself so fans can feel connected with him directly and there’s an emphasis on encouraging further engagement on his forum. The design is much more visually appealing than his previous site and navigation has also been improved, making the site much clearer and simpler to use.

The new website also features a guestbook for visitors to leave comments and a calendar of events for fans to view upcoming shows and tours, including links to ticket information. A new content management system ensures that the site can be easily updated.

Richard Hawley said: “I am really happy how the site has been made. Corporation Pop has done a great job. It feels a lot more representative of me and hopefully is slightly more interesting to fans.”

Greengaged letterpress workshop

September 16th, 2009

Category: | Print |

As part of London Design Festival Greengaged recently ran a competition offering two lucky designers the opportunity to take part in a one day letterpress workshop, run by Alex Cooper and Ross Gridneff of (the aptly named) Workshop in Hackney… and Matt Mear, one of our print design team, was lucky enough to win!

Matt spent the day with fellow attendees working collaboratively to produce a two colour poster which will be printed in a limited edition of 500 and given away at the Crafting Mass Production event on September 24th. Attending the workshop alongside Matt were Natt Hunter (Airside), Anna Gerber, Sara De Bondt, Anna Fidalgo, Crispin Finn, Sanky Sankarayya (All of Us), Lawrence Zeegan and fellow competition winner Holly Webber.

Matt had this to say: ‘I really enjoyed the whole process and appreciated learning a new skill from experts in the field. From proofing, cutting, pasting, overlaying to making a print on the press, letterpressing by it’s very nature makes you slow down and really think about what you’re designing.’

Here’s Matt getting to grips with letterpress:

Cream 17th anniversary celebrations

September 9th, 2009

Category: | Print | Web |

Currently rolling out across print, press and online is our campaign for legendary club Cream’s 17th birthday celebrations.

Cream have a long tradition of re-interpreting their iconic logo in different creative treatments. We wanted to continue this tradition but move away from a completely computerised response. By photographing real TV screens and combining them with computer generated graphics we have created a bold, vibrant and distinctive graphic that blurs the line between the real and the virtual. To achieve the end result, we shot a monitor in seven different positions using a cardboard box dummy to enable the correct positioning and accurate shadow detail. Further detail such as fluorescent tubes and cables were computer generated and the graphic was matted onto the screens in post.

James Barton, Cream CEO comments: “We were really pleased with the work Corporation Pop did for this year’s Creamfields and Cream Ibiza so they were a natural choice for our birthday celebrations. Creamfields is looking like it will sell out for the first time in eight years so we hope the creative concept for our anniversary will generate just as much excitement and interest.”

Cream’s 17th birthday celebrations take place on 10 October 2009 at Nation in Liverpool from 10pm to 6am.
